About This Site

I created this site because I wanted there to be a genuinely trustworthy place online for British Shorthair cat lovers — somewhere the information comes from real first-hand experience rather than content written at arm’s length.

My name is Ross Davies. I have bred and shown Siamese and Oriental cats under my Burnthwaites prefix since 2004. British Shorthairs came later: I became a full GCCF British Shorthair judge in December 2023, and my GCCF-registered prefix EzBritz had its first litter in 2026.

My credentials

I am a GCCF cat judge, qualified to judge Sections 1–3 and Sections 5–6. I became a Siamese judge in 2014 and have qualified in further sections since. I sit on cat club committees and have managed shows for various clubs.

I hold certifications in feline behaviour and psychology, and in cat anxiety and stress. I write about cats and have been featured in magazines including Your Cat and Our Cats, have guest authored for various cat organisation newsletters, and have spoken at cat seminars.

Over more than twenty years with my Siamese and Orientals, I have bred Best in Show winners. What I write about British Shorthairs comes from the judging table and from living with my own.
