The British Shorthair Cat is an independent information and directory website run by Ross Davies, GCCF cat judge and registered breeder. The site provides breed guides, care information and a breeder directory. It is not affiliated with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) or any other official body.

All breed guides, care articles and other informational content on this site are written in good faith based on the author’s experience and knowledge. However, this content is provided for general information only and does not constitute professional veterinary, legal or financial advice. Always consult a qualified veterinarian for health concerns relating to your cat.
Breeder directory — important disclaimer
The breeder directory on this site lists catteries that have submitted their own details for inclusion. Listings are submitted by third parties. We do not endorse, recommend or verify any individual breeder, cattery or listing.
Inclusion in this directory does not constitute a recommendation or guarantee of any kind. We cannot accept responsibility for the conduct, practices or representations of any listed breeder. Before committing to purchasing a kitten, we strongly recommend that you:
- Visit the cattery in person before agreeing to buy
- Ask to see health test certificates for both parents
- Verify GCCF registration directly with the GCCF if claimed
- Use a written sales contract and never pay in full before collection
